Since 2018, the Department of Otolaryngology has been headed by PhD Aigul Rakhmanalievna Medeulova.
A.R. Medeulova, a physician of the highest qualification category, is an ENT surgeon. She is the chief pediatric otolaryngologist at the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan. She continuously improves her professional skills. She also regularly studies in clinics in Germany, Poland, and Korea. Since 2006, she has also been the head of the ENT and Audiology Center at the Aksai University Clinic of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. Since 2018, by order of the rector, she has been the head of the department at the Asfendiyarov National Medical University.
2017 – Award of the “Altyn Dariger” (Golden Age) of the National Medical Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan for her significant contribution to the development of public health and selfless service to the health of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan. 2020 — “Excellent Healthcare Worker” badge for outstanding achievements in protecting the health of the population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2006, the Department of Otolaryngology, in collaboration with Professor E. Steinbach, a leading German otolaryngologist from the University Hospital of Tübingen, held a master class on “New Technologies in Middle Ear Microsurgery.” This class was subsequently held annually until 2010. Since then, modern titanium hearing prostheses adapted to the auditory ossicles by KURZ (Germany) have been introduced for the first time in Kazakhstan. From 2006 to 2015, more than 2,000 middle ear surgeries were performed in collaboration with the Department of Otolaryngology staff. In 2007, for the first time in the history of Kazakhstan, the ENT Clinic, with the participation of staff from the Otolaryngology Department, introduced and mastered a fundamentally new technology for the treatment of grade 3-4 sensorineural hearing loss and deafness – monoaural cochlear implantation (inner ear surgery). In total, from 2007 to 2014, the ENT Clinic performed more than 250 inner ear surgeries (cochlear implantations).
In 2012, for the first time in Kazakhstan, Professor M. Perotti, Director of the Otoneurosurgery Department at Tortona Hospital (Alexandria, Italy), held a master class on the treatment of paranasal sinuses in traumatic injuries, cerebrospinal fluid leaks, and oncological diseases using computer-assisted functional endonasal rhinosinus surgery (FESS). From June 23-25, 2014, the department’s staff held the IV International Congress “Modern Problems of Otolaryngology” in Almaty.
The department’s staff organized a visiting professorship: 2012 – Professor M. Beltramo (Padua, Italy); 2013 – Professor K. Boheim (Vienna, Austria); 2014 – Professor V.P. Sitnikov (St. Petersburg, Russia); Professor L.A. Kirasirova (Moscow, Russia).
Since 2019, laryngeal surgery master classes have been organized twice a year with the participation of Roberto Puxeddu, MD, Professor, Head of the Otolaryngology Section of the Department of Surgery at the School of Medicine, University of Cagliari, Italy.

My name is Amangeldy Seitmagambetovich Kulimbetov, and I was born on June 14, 1956, in the village of Novokazalinsk, Kyzylorda region. After graduating from Kazakh Railway Secondary School No. 420, I began working as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Biology at the Aktobe State Medical Institute. In 1974, I enrolled in the pediatric faculty of the Alma-Ata State Medical Institute and successfully graduated in 1980. During my student years, I combined my studies with work as a medical nurse in the ENT department of City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1. I was also the chairman of the Student Scientific Society and a member of the Komsomol Committee of ASMI (1978–1980).
Upon the recommendation of the rectorate, I was offered a position at the institute and worked as Deputy Secretary of the Komsomol Committee of ASMI (with district committee status) until the end of 1983. From 1983 to 1985, I worked as an on-duty physician in the ENT reception department at City Children’s Clinical Hospital No. 1. Between 1985 and 1988, I served as an Assistant to the Minister of Health of the Kazakh SSR.
On February 8, 1988, I joined the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov. My roles over the years included:
– Assistant (1988–1998)
– Associate Professor (1998–2012)
– Acting Professor (2012–2015)
– Since January 2015, Professor of the department.
From 1987 to 1991, I was a targeted postgraduate student at the Research Institute of Pediatrics of the USSR Academy of Sciences in Moscow. In 1993, I defended my Candidate of Sciences dissertation in two specialties: 14.00.36 – Allergology and Immunology, and 14.00.04 – Diseases of the Ear, Throat, and Nose. My research was titled “The Influence of Certain Environmental Factors on the Course of Allergic Rhinosinusitis in Children.”
In 2010, I defended my Doctor of Medical Sciences dissertation in the state language on the topic: “Features of ENT Pathology Among Residents of the Semi-Desert Zone of the Aral Region and Justification of Its Prevention and Prognosis.”
I am the developer of a state-approved regulatory document by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan – clinical protocols for diagnosis and treatment – and the author of the professional standard for pediatric otorhinolaryngology. I have authored over 140 scientific works, including:
– Two monographs in the state language: “Diseases of the Pharynx” and “Ear Diseases in Children”
– Two educational-methodological manuals
– Two innovative patents
– Twelve methodological guidelines for independent study on ENT pathology.
Awards and Recognition:
– In 2008, I was awarded the title “Best University Lecturer” by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– In 2009, I won the “Golden Fund of the University” competition at S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU for my dedicated work and contributions to university development.
– In 2016, I received the “Altyn Dáriger” (Golden Doctor) badge and the Gold Medal of the National Medical University for significant contributions to public health and my selfless service to the people of Kazakhstan.
– In 2018, my family and I won the district stage (Almaly District, Almaty) of the national “Mereyli Otbasy” (Model Family) competition.
– In 2020, I was awarded a Letter of Gratitude and a Valuable Gift from the “Samruk-Kazyna” National Welfare Fund and the Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan for my individual contribution to the “Medical Trains” project.
– In 2023, I was awarded the “Labor Veteran” medal by KazNMU.
– That same year, I received a First Degree Diploma as a winner of the national competition “EXCELLENCE IN HEALTHCARE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN,” which promoted the President’s message “New Kazakhstan: the Path of Renewal and Modernization.”
– I was also honored with the badge “Excellence in Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan” for my outstanding service and contributions to the healthcare sector.
– On September 29, 2023, I was elected a full member of the International Academy of Informatization.
– On October 27, 2023, the IAI Presidium awarded me the “Academic Badge of IAI.”

Al – Malakhi Aladin Mohamed, was born on April 29, 1972 in the Palestinian city of Gaza. After graduating from high school in 1991, he entered the ASMI Medical Institute. In 1998, he graduated from the Institute of the Faculty of Medicine. In 1998, he entered the residency program at the Department of Otoriolarynology and graduated in 2000. From 2000-2001, he completed an internship in Palestine. From October 2002 to November 2005, he defended the candidate’s dissertation on the oncology of head and neck tumors. From 2005 to 2008, he worked in the Department of ENT surgery of the head and neck. From 2009 to 2014, he worked at the Royal Norwegian Department of Otoriolarynology. From 2014 to 2017, he graduated from a board in the city of Gazeva. In 2017-2022, he was a member of the Vnezdrav Committee on Head and Neck Oncology. From 2017 to 2022, he was the chief physician of Bethanun Hospital. And a senior consultant in the Department of Surgery and Otorhinolaryngology. At the same time, he taught and lectured to BOARD doctors. Since 2023, he has been working at the SEMA Hospital.
Shakaraliev Adil Alibalaevich was born on May 31, 1974. In 1991, he entered the Kazakh State Medical University majoring in “General Medicine.” In 1997, he graduated from the Kazakh National Medical University. In 1999, he completed his residency at the Kazakh National Medical University based at City Clinical Hospital No. 5, earning the qualification of an Otorhinolaryngologist. From 1999 to 2002, he was a postgraduate student at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the Kazakh National Medical University. In 2003, he defended his PhD thesis on the topic “Comprehensive Treatment of Sensorineural Hearing Loss.” In 2003, he was awarded the degree of Candidate of Medical Sciences (PhD). From 1999 to 2008, he worked as an ENT doctor at City Clinical Hospital No. 5 (emergency department doctor, fee-based department No. 1) in Almaty.From 2006 to 2008, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at KazNMU named after S.D. Mauyayeva Saule Saktapbergenovna was born on February 6, 1977. In 1996 she entered the Kazakh State Medical University. In 2002 she graduated from the Kazakh National Medical University, specializing in general medicine. In 2003 she completed an internship at the Kazakh National Medical University on the basis of the 5th City Clinical Hospital, with the qualification of an otolaryngologist. In 2010, she defended her PhD thesis on the topic of “Clinical and functional features of the pathology of the nose and paranasal sinuses in patients with leprosy.” In 2011, she was awarded the academic degree of candidate of medical sciences.
From 2003 to 2005, she worked as an ENT doctor at the State Hospital No. 9 in Almaty. From 2005 to 2011, she worked as an assistant in the Otolaryngology Department of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University.
From 2011 to 2024, she worked as an otolaryngologist at the Medicare Medical Center.
From 2024 to this day, she has been working as an assistant professor at the Department of Otolaryngology at the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. She is the author of 10 scientific papers and patents.
