The uniqueness, versatility and individuality of a practising doctor are of great importance in the development of a modern competitive specialist in the field of healthcare. One of the aspects of the development of a modern doctor is the ability to implement one’s knowledge and skills into scientific activities aimed at an in-depth study of current problems in paediatrics.
At the Department of Outpatient Pediatrics, active research work is carried out by students under the guidance of teachers in the department. The goal of the NSC is for students to study various sections of paediatrics, gain skills in working with scientific medical literature, patients and their documentation, and skills in scientific analysis of the data obtained, which will be important in the future work of a practising physician, as well as those students who connect their future with scientific work. Members of the circle of our department were current doctors and candidates of medical sciences – among them Seisebaeva R.Zh., Nurgalieva Zh.Zh. and many others.
The Student Scientific Club (SSC) works in research areas such as pediatric pulmonology, endocrinology, cardiorheumatology, gastroenterology, immunology, and background pathology.
Responsible for research work at the department is the candidate of medical sciences, professor Nurgalieva Zh.Zh. The number of students who participated in research work in different years for 2023 is more than 20 students, among them 4th and 5th year students of the School of Pediatrics, and pediatric interns. Over the years of the circle’s existence, members of the circle (until 2023 as part of the Department of Childhood Diseases named after Professor N.A. Barlybaeva) have taken and continue to take prizes in the II round of the University’s scientific research competition, there are certificates. Student members of the circle made presentations at Republican scientific conferences for students and young scientists (Aktobe, Shymkent, Astana), at the International Conference of Young Scientists (Bukhara, Samarkand, Republic of Uzbekistan, Bishkek, Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Yakutsk, Russian Federation). The NSC holds round tables and discussions with students on current topics in paediatrics. Every year, members of the circle publish scientific student medical works in the publishing house of KazNMU (ISJM), as well as in other publishing houses of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
To carry out scientific and student work, the department has good clinical bases in the city (city clinics in Almaty, Maksat Med clinic, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, Scientific Center of Pediatrician and Pediatric Surgery); free access to patients and archival medical records.
