Employees of the department conduct scientific work in the following areas: Pediatric pulmonology; Pediatric gastroenterology; Neonatology. Since February 2021, the Department participates in the intrauniversity competition of research projects on the topic “Diagnosis and treatment of coronavirus infection in adults and children” in conjunction with the departments of the School of Pediatrics.

Employees of the department received 3 patents. Employees of the department made scientific reports at city, regional and republican conferences (4 reports) with international participation: “On the issue of clinical and radiological diagnosis of pneumonia in young children” report at the IІІ International Congress “Continuous Medical Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan” “Modern approaches to diagnostics, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for COVID-19” dated November 26-27, 2020
